It is not the first time that Elon Musk has used his influential perch to bully his own critics. Hence, he wrote on his platform against Iger and complained that Disney must remove Iger from his role immediately.
According to CNN Business,
“Representatives for Disney did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But Iger is widely credited for boosting Disney into an entertainment juggernaut through a series of well-executed acquisitions — Star Wars, Marvel Studios, and Pixar — during his first stint as chief executive.”
Disney, along with other major companies in the industry, has stopped advertising on the X platform. This happened as Musk endorsed a so-called antisemitic conspiracy theory popular on the Internet.
However, Musk apologized for his post last week after many companies stopped their relationships with the social media platform. However, he also lashed out at those companies who declined to purchase advertisements from the X platform.
In return to reports of Disney pulling out its ads, Iger stated that Disney’s relationship with Elon Musk was not quite positive. Disney made the decision to pull advertisements from X based on the trend that was happening on the social media website.
As of now, a lack of major advertising partners for X is making the social media platform financially weaker. Advertising was the major revenue source for the platform. Even Musk acknowledged that the current scarcity of advertisers can lead to the death of the company.
