Veterinary Emergency Group

As a pet owner, your pet can face various problems at any time of the day. Be it early morning or late after midnight, the need for veterinary services 24/7 is a must. Therefore, you must ensure that your furry friends get the best treatment and medication they deserve – whenever they need it. This is where the Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) comes in to solve your pet-related healthcare issues.

Therefore, if you have any health issues related to your pets at home, you need to read this post now. Here, I will be explaining all the services provided by VEG and where their locations are.

Veterinary Emergency Group – Overview

Dr. David Bessler loved animals from a young age. When he grew older, he believed that his life’s calling was helping out and caring for animals. Since 2003, he became a full-time veterinarian and a teacher of Veterinary Science at the American Museum of Natural History.

However, he was unhappy with the current condition and the services provided by most Veterinary hospitals. Therefore, to make his dream of providing care to animals come true, he founded the Veterinary Emergency Group in 2014.

Dr. David Bessler

However, he was not alone in this quest of his. David Glattstein, another pet and animal lover since a very young age, joined him too as the co-founder. He graduated from Emory University and then completed his MBA from the esteemed Wharton School under the University of Pennsylvania. He understood VEG’s core principles pretty well and therefore became its President after its inception in 2014.

These two pet and animal lovers revolutionized the way most veterinary hospitals provided care in the USA. VEG has locations in 10 different states, treating over 3,000 emergencies regarding pets and animals every year.

Veterinary Emergency Group – VEG Cares

In order to provide the best care for animals and household pets, the Veterinary Emergency Group has initiated VEG Cares. If you have any care for animals or even consider yourself to be an animal lover, then you can donate money to VEG Cares.

However, if you think that the Veterinary Emergency Group will use this money for themselves, then you are wrong. Instead, VEG uses this money and donates it to families who have pets with debilitating diseases and currently undergoing treatment.

However, not just every family with sick puppies will get a share from this. Only families that require financial assistance in caring for their pets will get a share of your donations. This is a great initiative taken by VEG, which other veterinarian organizations and pet lovers have praised.

Veterinary Emergency Group – Locations

As of December 2022, the Veterinary Emergency Group has 40 locations open all over the USA. What makes VEG stand out and even be better than other veterinary hospitals is the fact that it has all its care centers open 24/7. Therefore, be it early morning or even late after midnight at 3 am, VEG locations will always be open.

Veterinary Emergency Group Reviews – What Customers Have To Say

Customer reviews are a great way to understand how good the services of Veterinary Emergency Group are. Therefore, here I have stated some reviews of this veterinary clinic from Yelp.com, a trusted website for checking out customer reviews.

Here is a 5-star positive review by Shelly:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

My poor dog had blood coming out of his bum. I found VEG on Google, and I am glad that I did. The place was so great. Everyone was so kind to my dog and me. From the security guard at the door to the receptionist that checked us in to the tech and then to the vet. They have a fair estimate, diagnosed the problem, we’re able to treat it promptly in a thoroughly kind and professional manner. I feel very fortunate to have such a wonderful resource in my neighborhood. While nobody wants to have to take their pet to an emergency vet, if you do have to, this is a great place to go. I highly recommend VEG.

However, not all of their reviews have been entirely positive. Here is a 1-star negative review by Kittens:

Rating: 1 out of 5.

I went to the ER with my senior dog (15.5 years old) for urinary issues. They ended up taking X-rays to check for crystals, but there weren’t any. However, there was a huge abdominal mass that no one acknowledged. I shared the results with another vet that was able to diagnose the mass with a screenshot through my iPhone,  including a human doctor and a regular cat mom that expressed concern after I shared the X-rays with them. Unfortunately, I may not return since I don’t feel comfortable if this situation happens again.
